The Jungfrau Region sits at the heart of the Berner Oberland and includes some of Switzerland's best-known destinations, including Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and Mürren, with the Jungfraujoch as the bucket list attraction for most.
Put simply, every Jungfrau Region itinerary is within the Berner Oberland, but not every Berner Oberland itinerary stays within the Jungfrau Region. Quite handy, then, that we have a separate regional pass for each!

Jungfrau Travel Pass
As the name implies, the Jungfrau Travel Pass is designed for people visiting the Jungfrau Region.
It includes unlimited travel on nearly all of the area's rail, bus and mountain transport network, covering popular destinations like Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and Wengen, as well as trains to Kleine Scheidegg. It also includes boat cruises on both Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and free travel to Grindelwald First, Schynige Platte and Harder Kulm.
One of its biggest advantages is the discounted fare to Jungfraujoch - which at 50% is the best discount available on any pass, making it particularly attractive if visiting the 'Top of Europe' is high on your itinerary. Berner Oberland Pass
The Berner Oberland Pass, on the other hand, offers much broader coverage across the region.
Alongside the Jungfrau Region, it includes travel to places less frequented by tourists like Adelboden and Meiringen. It also covers popular mountain excursions like Schilthorn and Brienzer Rothorn in full, as well as boat cruises on Lake Thun and Brienz.
Perhaps most significantly, though, is the fact that it includes connections to Bern, Lucerne, Brig and Montreux. This means if you're making a bit of a tour of it when in Switzerland, the Berner Oberland Pass is the way to go (although too much of a tour and you should probably start looking at the Swiss Travel Pass).
